Vehicle electronics and electrical faults

Electrical faults in an older car are rarely a single defective part. It's an interplay of years: modifications, repairs, moisture and ageing. Tracing the fault is the real craft here.

Complaints we see often

  • The battery is flat in the morning for no clear reason
  • Lights or wipers work intermittently
  • Fuses blow with no obvious pattern
  • Strange behaviour after a previous radio, alarm or tracker installation
  • Contacts and switches that no longer work reliably
  • Earth faults that shift to other functions

Diagnosis before replacement

Swapping parts until the problem disappears is expensive and rarely permanent. Measurements are taken, circuits are checked through, and causes are eliminated one by one until the source is confirmed — even when the fault only appears occasionally.

Parasitic drain, for example, is traced circuit by circuit while the car is at rest, not by ticking off a list of guesses.

What we work with

  • Wiring, wiring looms and repair of previous interventions
  • Earth points, fuse boxes, relays and switches
  • Parasitic drain and voltage drop
  • Aftermarket installations disrupting the vehicle
  • Custom circuit work when standard solutions don't fit

Documenting what happened

What was measured and adjusted is reported back to you. That way your vehicle builds up a history instead of a series of unclear interventions — useful for you, for a garage, and for a future owner.
