Fault with your car alarm
An alarm fault becomes a real problem when it immobilises your car or becomes unpredictable. The starting point is always the same: finding out what the system is doing and why.
Faults we frequently see
- The car won't start because of an immobiliser that stays engaged
- The remote doesn't respond, or only right next to the car
- The siren keeps blaring until the battery is disconnected
- The alarm arms or disarms itself
- The central locking works erratically
Diagnosis first
Measurements are taken on the working system: power supply, earth, switching signals and sensors. This makes clear whether the problem lies in the module, the wiring or a peripheral component.
Then a choice
- Repairing where that makes sense
- Adjusting where that's sufficient
- Replacing when the module or installation is worn out
- Removing, with the original wiring restored
